The Wednesday Call Live! with Andy Albright 11/25/2015

The Wednesday Call (TWC) for November 25, 2015: Andy Albright hosted The Wednesday Call live from AMP Studios at The Alliance's corporate headquarters in Burlington, N.C.

The studio was packed with agents from around the country from places like Ohio, Texas, Florida and several other states.

Andy covered various contests that are going on with NAA, and brought up people from the audience who have won contests or are leading contests.

The show's main topic centered around the following question: What makes you mad?

People get mad when they don't get what they want. It's human nature and it is a fact. People get mad when it takes too long to get what they want. They get mad when something isn't what they want. They get mad when it is just not what they wanted. People get disappointed when their expectations are not met. When a person feels like they were let down by another person or an outcome, they do not like it. That's when they get mad.

Here is the good news: you get to control your temper. You can choose NOT to be mad. You have the choice to let something upset you or to not let something bother you.

Choosing to make the best out of a situation is a decision. When you are able to control your emotions and channel that energy into something productive, then you win. Successful people don't let the mad prevent them from doing the things they need to do.

What do you do right before you get mad? That is when you get to make a decision.

If a horse gets wrapped up in barb wire they will struggle until they bleed to death. A mule or a donkey that gets in the same situation will just sit there until somebody gets him out. Be a donkey not a horse when you are caught in a bad spot. Don't make it worse. STOP. THINK. Name the situation by verbally talking it out to yourself. Write it down on paper. It will force you to work through it instead of overreacting. Figure out what you SHOULD DO and do that. Don't react with anger. What can I do to improve the situation? That is what you should do.

Here's the hard part: it is easier to define it than it is to do it.

There will be times when you don't always get what you want. The key is to figure out how to deal with it and make the best of it. Do your best to always show gratitude and remember all the blessings in your life, even when things are exactly the way you want them to be. Think about what you have. Be thankful for that.

Do you still have a shot? Can God work a miracle in your life? Can you pray about it? Do you have your health? Do you have people that care about you?

Think about those questions. Show gratitude. Gratitude is about knowing you have enough. Yes, you can strive for more but you have enough. Gratitude gives you the push and the energy to push on, to move forward and to make more things happen.

If you can be grateful for what you have, then you can use a platform to do more great things. Think about what you hate. Think about what you are grateful for. When you get made, think about all the things you have. The world isn't teaching this. It is teaching people that they are right all the time. They are telling people you should be mad or offended. That is incorrect thinking. If you can get to the point where you are not mad, but instead are grateful then your life will be better. Focus on things that lift you up not push or hold you down. Don't get mad. Don't fight a verbal battle that you can't win with a person. Gratitude gives you energy and the right attitude to be successful in life.
