The Wednesday Call Live! with Andy Albright 01/13/2016
The Wednesday Call (TWC) for January 13, 2016: Andy Albright was live and in color for another episode of The Wednesday Call live from NAA headquarters in Burlington, N.C. to share a very special message for people heading into NatCon16 in Raleigh, N.C.
Before Andy got into today's show topic, he had Darwin Hurme of Foresters join the show via telephone. Foresters and The Alliance held a cruise contest to finish out 2015 and this is the day when the winners were announced. The trip is a cruise to the Bahamas for three nights and four days. Winners were announced in the new agent, veteran agent and agency manager categories.
Additionally, lottery tickets were awarded and each name drawn earns a cruise. Andy Riddle, James and Jane Hill, and Paul Minichino joined Andy on the show to help draw the lottery winners.
Andy moved into the main focus of the show, which is "how to get through it all ... and flourish!" When you are going through struggles, you have to keep going because if you don't you won't get out of the mess you are mired in.
People have "hurts" like pain, worry, doubt, sickness, debt, etc. that they are dealing with. It is something you deal with daily or frequently. We all have "hurts" in life. How we deal with those "hurts" is critical to what happens in our lives. All these things are painful and hurt. People in these circumstances need encouragement and an ear.
One way to get out of these situations is to shoot for more than doing just the minimum in all areas of your life. You have to shoot to do as much as possible so you don't fall short of where you want to be.
Another important step in getting through something is to do what you need to do right now. You are where you are for whatever reason, the best thing you can do is to set about fixing it and making things better now before it gets even worse.
Where you are today is a result of what you did yesterday. What you do today will determine where you are tomorrow. People will sacrifice their future to feel better now instead of getting through what is going on now in order to get something better down the road. They let the urgent trump the important because it feels good now.
Good questions to ask yourself now:
- Whose life will I brighten today?
- What three things am I grateful for?
- What challenge am I going to overcome today?
- What value can I create today?
- What makes you happy?
- What hurts you the most?
- How do I get through it all?
There are things that are out of our control. Don't make it worse. Find ways to make it better. Set the example for others.
Make sure that people know you care. Make sure that you know other people care.
The stuff people are dealing with is real. This stuff is as real as real gets. When we work together then we not only survive but we can flourish. Seek wisdom. Ask for input from people who have been there before. Ask for advice from people that are wiser than you. Pay or donate to causes you believe in.
Start taking steps to fix the "stuff" in your life now before it gets worse. Now is all we have for certain. Don't wait until tomorrow doesn't present itself. Let today be the day you start fixing your problems. It might not be easy to do that, but it will be worth it. That is how you will get through all the "stuff" you are dealing with in your life.
Stop going through the motions and dare to be great in all that you do. Are you being called to do something and you keep fighting it? Why are you fighting it? If you hear it and you know it, then why not go with it? Time is our most valuable asset. We can't keep wasting it. If we keep wasting it, we will surely run out of time. Change your thinking and see if it doesn't change your life. Be a river, not a reservoir.
The Live Show will air again on January 20, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
