Adam Katz and Stephen Davies were live from AMP Studios to host a very special The Wednesday Call live in Burlington, N.C.
Katz, who lives in Wilmington, N.C., covered how important it is to be a team player with The Alliance. The goal is to reach a level where all members are on the same page. He used the football analogy of scoring a touchdown. If all 11 players on the field execute then you will score a touchdown. The Alliance uses D.A.E. to better understand what being a team player is. Duplication, Association, Edification.
Duplication means using the right words. It means using the same gestures as the top leaders. Whatever you are doing, your team will do too. You follow the right example and your team will notice. If you are doing the right things, then your team will follow your lead. If you are doing the wrong things, you can bet that your team will follow your bad habits too.
Association is all about who you are hanging around. To get better, you have to spend time around people that are where you want to be. If you hang around the right people, you will be a better person. If you are around the wrong crowd, you will fall into bad habits. By getting around people that are more successful than you, your beliefs and actions will be impacted in a positive way. If you do this consistently, you will elevate your income and your life. You will read more, you will ask better questions and you will seek out high-quality people.
Edification is when you are giving praise to others. It is amazing what happens when nobody cares who gets the credit. Shine the light on others and it will come back to you in spades. Let people have their moment and be willing to edify others instead of talking about yourself. People don’t like those who brag about what they’ve done. It is annoying. Create an atmosphere where you and others are more than happy to reap praise on your teammates.
When the entire team follows D.A.E., the lid will be taken off for The Alliance.
Davies, who lives outside of Asheville, N.C., discussed the importance of your thought process. He laid out three stages of thought process.
The first was statement form. When you say things you are using statement form. When you react based on the information you have and nothing else, you are limiting what you know and what you can do in life. People who suffer from “certainty addiction” are almost doomed to perform at a lower level than they should because they are stubborn. It is vital that you seek information beyond what you know right now. If you want to study statements from every angle, you will see the world might be different than what you previously believed. One way to improve in this area is by asking questions to people that know more than you do.
The next step is questions. When you think and ask questions, you are moving in the right direction. When you are able to ask great questions, you will grow and your belief level will get bigger. You are forcing your brain to think and get smarter. Not asking questions is another way that you limit your potential.
The third phase is asking good questions. Are you actively asking yourself questions that will force you to move or change bad behaviors and start doing right or good behaviors. Your personal behavior will determine where you go from now until your life ends.
The natural thing is to always operate in statement form. What you have to work on is operating more in questions and good questions to improve your life. If you can spend more of your time in the good questions phase, you will discover things you never even realized about yourself.
Katz outlined all the various resources available for you at The Alliance.
Davies outlined how to unlock your potential and play the game at a higher level. Are you playing the game not to lose? This is a common mistake most people make in business and life. You have to meet people where they are at, but please don’t play NOT to lose. One example of this is wanting to earn enough money to just pay your bills each month. That does not sound fun.
Another mistake is people playing to cruise through life. Maybe that means having enough money to go out to eat at a decent restaurant on Friday nights. People guilty of this do just enough to be content with what they have and don’t push to do and have more. You should want to do more because you will impact others when you push to be better at what you do.
Are you playing to improve? When you reach this point, you start to see growth in you and your business. This is when you start setting bigger goals and strive for more in life.
The next big step is when you start playing to compete. Do you think you can reach a higher level you have never reached before? Do you believe you can do great things? When you start talking about it, taking action and measure where you are at, then you are competing for more.
The goal is to reach the point where you play to win. This is when you shed the ego and operate with a crazy spirit that the world loves. The world is desperately seeking the best you. You have no fear because your goal is to be the best you can be and that is all that matters. Failure is not an option for you. You don’t worry about going back to your old ways. Your best you doesn’t worry about silly stuff. Your heart is filled with gratitude. The petty stuff and people don’t bother you anymore. When you drive down to the point you are playing to win, life will be more fun. That is the person you need, we need and your family needs.
You at your best can change the world and make The Alliance even stronger.
Katz and Davies closed out the show by asking people to play to win from now on.
